Montessori Toddler Program

This is the time when children use their bodies, senses, and emerging problem-solving skills to learn about and make sense of their world in the ways most meaningful and effective for them.

An extremely prevalent method of Education in the western world that is now extended to our Toddlers at Little Geniuses Montessori School as well.

We take great care to provide nurturing, safe and comfortable atmosphere, while at the same time igniting the child’s natural curiosity.

We understand that it is a critical time of development for a child and therefore we work on their natural tendencies and encourage them to enjoy learning. Children for our Toddlers program are not required to be potty-trained.

Why Choose our Montessori Program

We focus on delivering rich vocabulary in order to hike the child’s language capability. Our children start learning big words easily and with pleasure and they become happier as they learn to express their needs, rather than needing to resort to crying and tantrums.

Because the teacher does not “run” the classroom, students guide the activities they do throughout the day. This encourages children to share and work cooperatively to explore the various stations in the Montessori classroom.  Children in Montessori classrooms, by the very nature of the environment, learn to respect one another and build a sense of community.

Montessori preschool students enjoy a classroom and curriculum designed around their specific needs and abilities that allows them to explore and learn at their own pace and on their own terms.

In order to provide individual attention we maintain a small adult to child ratio of around 1 adult to 5 children, whereby the child can work at its own pace and get adequate attention.

We deliver a Prepared Environment whereby every activity is purposeful and is made to engineer concentration. It comprises of Language, Sensorial, Practical life, Art, Music, Culture, Manipulative Exercises and Botany. The materials used across all these segments are reality based; they are safe and non-toxic in nature and generally made from natural ingredients.

We offer scientifically designed Montessori Material that is prepared in order to assist in the mental and physical growth of your child.

  • Colour Tablets

Language

Language activities are developing at a rapid rate during the toddler years.  During the formative years these materials in the Toddler classroom encourage the refinement and enrichment of language as the first steps on the road to writing and finally reading. Early Language materials and oral exercises like storytelling and reading aloud support the toddler’s need to be immersed in language.

Activities include:

  • Books
  • Puzzles
  • Naming objects like fruits, vegetables and animals
  • Beginning sound games
  • Finger plays
  • Singing
  • Spontaneous conversation time to encourage both social and language skills.

Music & Movement

Sometimes called the “universal language”,music adds a sensory dimension to life like nothing else. Children have an innate capacity to appreciate music of all types and an uninhibited inclination to move, dance and make music. Music is present in all cultures, often reflecting the character of people by the style, melodies, tones and instruments used. With music or without, provide children with plenty of opportunities to perfect their movements and refine coordination. Both music and movement can provide children with a way to express their own unique spirits.
